In a crisis, the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) is among the first to respond. But those reeling from the financial and emotional distress often left in the wake of an identity theft don't always know where to turn. But now, thanks to a partnership with LifeLock, NOVA is now able to offer victims with additional resources for support.
The relationship marks NOVA's first national partnership of its kind and will provide NOVA staff with training on the steps identity theft victims can take to reduce the risk of being victimized again. LifeLock staff will, in turn, be trained by NOVA experts in crisis intervention and victim response.
Identity theft victims that turn to NOVA for help will be assisted on the emotional side of the crime as well as steps to take to begin the remediation process and to get back their good name. Through the partnership, LifeLock and NOVA will offer the public multiple identity theft protection workshops, furthering awareness and education efforts.
